Growing up in a Italian household we had a tradition at Easter to make meat pies and baked rice. Now that my parents are deceased, my brother and his wife make the meat pies, but we haven't had the baked rice in over a decade and I really miss it. Someday I might try making it.

I'd always make brioche the night ahead of Easter and a batch of my blueberry muffins first thing in the morning before we'd go off to sunrise service. These would accompany breakfast eggs (various styles), along with butter, jam, hot tea, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. For dinner, we'd start with a spring mix salad with candied pecans; and follow with a boneless lamb roast rubbed with garlic, lemon, and olive oil; and fresh peas and baked potatoes for sides. Homemade mint ice cream was a favorite for our Easter dessert. Unfortunately, the ears of the chocolate bunnies from our Easter baskets never survived long enough to use as garnish for the mint ice cream, so I'd make up some chocolate syrup for drizzling over our dessert.

I make homemade Easter Bread. You make the dough from scratch, braid it in a circle, spread butter on the outside and add sprinkles to make it festive than add a dyed hard boiled in the middle to look like a nest! It takes about 6 hours so I only make it once a year!

We Love hosting Easter celebrations at our home. Granddaughters make it extra special. 🙂
After the always memorable egg hunt in our very large yard, it really is fun to watch, we all head back inside for a brunch of a variety of quiches, fruit and muffins.
Later in the evening we have our 'Easter' meal consisting of a brown-sugar glazed ham, mashed potatoes, biscuits and multiple veggie favorites...lots of veggies!
After dinner we usually snack from the baskets of candy.
I also bake a fruit pie, thinking of making a peach crisp this year. Always nice to switch things up a bit!.
After the holiday we enjoy deviled eggs, egg salad & hard boiled eggs straight-up or on salads.
