I've shared a recipe for Puff Pastry Twists before, but this might just be my favorite version yet. These bacon puff pastry twists are the perfect brunch side or snack. Everything is better with bacon right?
You guys these are so easy to make - and with only 5 ingredients they don't break the bank either. I just know you'll love them. And with the variations I've included, you can tailor them to your tastes quickly and easily. Don't like Parmesan cheese? No problem! You can substitute any hard cheese you like. I promise it will be delicious.

Ingredients
- eggs
- parmesan cheese
- bacon
- puff pastry dough
- dried basil
Instructions
Heres how to make Bacon Puff Pastry Twists:
- Preheat the oven to 400-degrees F.
- Beat the egg with 2 tablespoons of water.
- Unroll the puff pastry dough and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
- Lightly, brush the dough with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle the dried basil and parmesan cheese over the dough.
- Place a strip of bacon on a flat surface and lay a piece of dough on top.
- Twist the dough and bacon together.
- Place the twist onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-35 minute, until the bacon is golden brown.
Recipe Variations
- use any hard cheese such as Parmigiano, Pecorino Romano or Dry Jack
- swap out dried basil for dried sage or dried rosemary
- add 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard to the egg wash mixture, omitting the water

What kind of puff pastry did you use? Are these the frozen sheets that come folded in thirds? Or are they the canned sheets of crescent roll dough? This sounds yummy!

Hi Chris, I actually use a brand called Jus-Rol which you can find in the refrigerator section at your local grocery store. I like it because it's not frozen and it's better quality than crescent roll dough. All you have to do is open the package and unroll it - no thawing, no rolling pin, super easy 🙂
