It’s hard enough coming up with a dinner idea night after night, but side dishes, too?!? That’s why I’ve got this great collection of delicious side dishes the whole family will love.

I love easy chicken casserole recipes because they save me time on busy weeknights, and my family gobbles them up.

My two favorite side dishes are Make Ahead Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, but many classic chicken casserole recipes include pasta or potatoes, so I don’t always want to serve another carb as a side.

From simple side dishes, including some that can be made in the slow cooker, to colorful salads, and breads, rolls, and biscuits, we’ve got something for everyone.

1. Garlic Green Beans

This is such a great family favorite recipe. It’s made with our famous garlic butter, which adds tons of buttery, garlicky goodness, making it one of the best side dishes ever.

2. Roasted Beet Salad

Sometimes chicken casseroles have a rich, creamy sauce, so I like to consider serving side dishes that are light and healthier, like a fruit salad or this orange and mint beet salad. It’s the perfect way to make a balanced meal.

Lightly dressed with olive oil and minced garlic (or garlic powder), this broccoli is a great way to add a healthy side dish for your meal. Pop it in the oven, and you’ll have it on the table in just 10 minutes!

I especially love serving this in the Fall when squash are in season.

7. Cheesy Cornbread

This is another family-favorite recipe! You’ll this easy cornbread recipe that you can make right in a skillet.

Top it with cheddar cheese and you have one of the best side dishes out there!

8. Cowboy Baked Beans

This recipe takes a bit longer than most of the others on our list but you can’t argue with the amazingly rich flavors from the bacon and our cowboy steak seasoning.

These beans can be made on the stovetop, in the slow cooker, or even on the grill!

9. Honey Lime Fruit Salad

This is my go-to fruity salad. The honey lime drizzle is so good, and I can use whatever fruit I have on hand. Trust me, your family will devour this!

During strawberry season, I love this Fruit Salad with Orange Juice Dressing.

10. Pico de Gallo

When you have a casserole with lots of sour cream or cheese, it’s nice to pair it with something fresh. This Pico de Gallo is perfect for Mexican food like Walking Taco Casserole, Taco Stuffed Shells, or Mexican Chicken Casserole.

These are great for when you’re pulling a freezer meal out and have a little extra time on your hands (HAHA, I know, I don’t have much of that either!)

This is my favorite go-to simple side dish because it is SO easy! Everyone always thinks you spent tons of time kneading dough, but the secret is that these are semi-homemade and could not be more convenient.

It’s loaded with cream cheese, bacon, and sharp cheddar cheese, and the flavor cannot be beat!

Bacon and shredded white cheddar make this is one of my favorite dishes to serve with a savory dish like garlic chicken thighs.

Since it’s low carb, it is also a great side for low-carb casseroles.

These sheet pan veggies are super simple to make and it’s easy to substitute the vegetables that your family likes best. These are simple seasoned with kosher salt, black pepper, and a little bit of parsley, but you could sprinkle on your favorite seasoning mix.
