Here’s a very simple way to add something special without a lot of work – Brown Sugar Compound Butter.  Many of you already know how much I love making these compound butters (check out my Honey and Garlic Chive versions).  They’re so simple to make, but add a nice touch and great flavor.

Brown Sugar Compound Butter

Ingredients:
1 stick of butter
1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Let the stick of butter come up to room temperature.  Whip the butter with a spatula until smooth and creamy – this is especially fun (and tiring) for the kiddos.  Add the brown sugar and combine until smooth.

On a piece of parchment paper, form the butter mixture into a log and roll up the paper, twisting the ends.  Refrigerate 1 hour. Store in a tupperware container in the fridge.
