Sweet potatoes have to be one of the most versatile dishes that I’ve seen on a Thanksgiving table! There are so many different ways to enjoy them from sweet to savory. However, time and time again, I constantly find myself diving back into this simple roasted veggie! 

This sweet side dish recipe requires only a few simple ingredients, which many of you probably already have at home, and a few steps to put together this deliciously sweet side dish!

Ingredients

  • sweet potatoes
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • pure maple syrup
  • ground cinnamon, salt, black pepper

Instructions

Here’s how to roast sweet potatoes in the oven with maple syrup and cinnamon:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Dice your sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes, then place them in a large bowl.
  3. Add the olive oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and toss to coat evenly. 
  4. Spread the sweet potato cubes onto the baking sheet in a single layer. 
  5. Roast for 25-30 minutes, flipping the sweet potatoes with a spatula halfway through.

Tips

  • For easy cleanup line your rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Take care to chop the sweet potatoes into evenly-sized pieces so that they cook at the same rate.

Variations
