Hey all! This is Nancy from The Bitter Side of Sweet back with you sharing you a the perfect kind of game day snack! Remember the last time I was here and I rounded up 25 Kid Friendly Game Day Foods?

Well I thought I would add another one to the list. In all honesty I didn’t even want to share these with the kids because I loved eating them that much! But shhhh don’t tell them! If you don’t mind sharing this dish is definitely something you can bring the kids into the kitchen to help you make!

Cheesy Ranch Tater Tots from The Bitter Side of SweetNow that the rush of the holidays is over, I have been thinking about snack foods! We tend to do them for our New Year’s celebrations, during the long breaks from school and around our favorite sports seasons. So these tater tots go hand in hand with all of this!

I highly recommend making your own seasoning blends, like this Ranch Seasoning Mix, but a store bought ranch seasoning packet will work also.

How to make your own homemade ranch seasoning mix

They are super easy to make. You bake the tater tots according to the package which is about 16 minutes. Then top them with ranch seasoning, cheese and bake for 8-10 more minutes. Here is a little step by step just to show you! Isn’t that simple? I like my cheese so I had a hard time not putting the whole pack of it on these but the recipe only calls for 2 cups! I say the more the cheese the better but that is just me! ENJOY!

Shopping List:

  • 16oz bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Mix (or 1-ounce packet)
  • 2 cups Mexican shredded cheese blend
