My Favorite Pork Recipes

From Sheet Pan Pork Tenderloin to Slow Cooker Pulled Pork, I really love making pork for my family. (When I see it on sale, I always grab an extra package or two for the freezer).

Pork is mouthwateringly juicy and takes on the flavors of the seasonings you add to it. Here are some of the pork recipes my family, and my readers, love:

How do you use this rub?

Use about 2 tablespoons of this homemade pork rub seasoning mix per pound of meat such as pork rubs, pork butt, chicken breast, or chicken thighs.

For best results, massage the mix into the meat and let it marinate for 30 minutes before cooking. I love this mixture on grilled pork ribs, but it’s delicious on chicken, like wings, thighs, and breasts as well. This is delicious on all kinds of pork including pork loin, tenderloin, and pork butt cooked on the grill, stovetop, smoker, or even slow cooker. It also makes a great bbq rub for beef brisket.

Recipe Variations

As I mentioned, one of the best things about making your own spice mixtures is that you can control all the flavors to make your own perfect blend. Here are some ways to make this recipe your own:

  • For a bolder smoky flavor, add a little ground cumin.
  • Add additional heat with red pepper flakes or chipotle powder.
  • I prefer dark brown sugar, but light brown sugar will also work.
