These Puff Pastry Twists are easy to make and take only a few ingredients you already have in your pantry and fridge.

Fall is just around the corner, and I’m already thinking about everything pumpkin flavored and pumpkin spice! If you are looking for a fun appetizer or fall treat to enjoy, you can’t go wrong with these delicious Puff Pastry Twists. They are a delightful pumpkin spice flavor that will taste just like fall!

It only takes a few simple ingredients and a little patience to make these delicious treats! This is an easy recipe that you could make with your kids or make them enjoy after a long day of school! You could even add a little vanilla glaze to make them even sweeter!

These puff pastry twists are the perfect Fall treat, and tasty amazing with a cup of Pumpkin Hot Cocoa!

  • Refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Pumpkin puree
  • Brown sugar
  • Pumpkin spice
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Whipped cream

(If you are feeling ambitious, you can use our recipe for homemade pumpkin puree – but canned works just fine, too!)

How to Make Puff Pastry Twists with Pumpkin Filling

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F. 
  2. In a bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar and pumpkin spice.
  3. Cut the dough in half so you have two identical rectangles side by side.
  4. Spread the pumpkin mixture over one of the dough rectangles.
  5. Place the second dough rectangle on top of the first rectangle so the pumpkin mixture is sandwiched between them.
  6. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips.
  7. Twist each strip one by one and place onto the baking sheet.
  8. Brush with melted butter.
  9. Mix together the sugar and pumpkin spice or cinnamon and sprinkle over each twist.
  10. Bake the pumpkin pie twists at 375F for 8-11 minutes.

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

For the Twists:

  • 1 refrigerated crescent roll dough one tube
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter

For the Coating:

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice or cinnamon
  • Whipped cream Optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, and pumpkin spice.
  • Unroll crescent dough. Cut the dough in half so you have two identical rectangles side by side.
  • Spread the pumpkin mixture over one of the dough rectangles.
  • Place the second dough rectangle on top of the first rectangle so the pumpkin mixture is sandwiched between them. Line up all the edges.
  • Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips approximately 3/4 inch wide.
  • Twist each strip one by one and place onto the baking sheet.
  • Brush the melted butter over each twist.
  • Mix together the sugar and pumpkin spice or cinnamon and sprinkle over each twist.
  • Bake the pumpkin pie twists at 375F for 8-11 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream for dipping.
