To me, cream cheese frosting is one of those recipes you need to have committed to memory. The tangy creamy cheese perfectly offsets the sweetness creating the perfect frosting recipe – in my humble opinion!

This is the frosting I used on my Best Carrot Cupcake Recipe and Pomegranate Cupcakes. You can also use it on Apple Carrot Bread.

Ingredients

  • cream cheese
  • unsalted butter
  • vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

This recipe will make enough frosting for a 13×9 cake or 24 cupcakes.

  1. Add room temperature cream cheese and butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until creamy and smooth
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, a little at a time until it is all incorporated.
  3. Next, add vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
