Are you a snacker? I am! So I try to turn to healthy snacks as much as possible. These homemade pita chips are my new favorite snack. They’re easy to make, and you can flavor them in a variety of ways.
I like to try to come up with new snacks, so I’m not eating the same thing every day. I get bored easily with that, and when I get bored with my healthier snacks I start craving brownies and cookies. 😉 One day I thought I would try homemade pita chips after having some with a friend. I cut a whole wheat tortilla in 8 wedges and then cut those wedges in half (they’ll pull apart at the “seam” pretty easily). Then I brushed a little bit of olive oil on the pitas and sprinkled them with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt. Less than 10 minutes later, I was enjoying a flavorful snack of pita chips dipped in hummus.
The varieties you could make with these really are endless. I like to sprinkle the pitas with a cinnamon sugar mixture for a sweet treat. Another option would be to spice them up with some chili powder. Or what about a ranch seasoning? Be creative and come up with your own favorite flavoring!
What flavors would you use?

Yum! They sound really great. I’m trying to eat healthier, most of the time. I’m not a hummus fan, but I bet they would be great with refried beans, only not fried. 🙂 Thank you for linking up to Tips and Tricks. I will be pinning this. Hope to see you again next week!
