💭 Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions (and answers!) readers often ask about this recipe.

What can I use instead of lemon juice?

White wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar will both work, but then of course you won’t have the lemon flavor.

Can I use Dijon mustard instead of stone-ground mustard?

Yes, either Dijon mustard or stone ground mustard will work in this vinaigrette recipe.

🍲 Storage

To Store: Store your lemon mustard vinaigrette in an airtight container in the fridge. It will keep for about one week. (These are my favorite airtight containers.)

Because the extra virgin olive oil will solidify in the fridge, you’ll want to place the dressing on the counter about 10 minutes before you want to use it. Give the jar a good shake or use a whisk to combine the oil again.

📖 Variations

The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the lemon and mustard vinaigrette recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:

Instead of the individual seasonings, you could use 1-2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning mix or Mediterranean seasoning mix.

Use fresh herbs instead of dried ones.

For a bit of sweetness, whisk in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup.

Substitute the lemon juice for fresh lime juice for a different flavor profile.
