I love every single thing about Fall in New England (except that it leads to winter).  The weather is perfect with cool crisp mornings and warm sunny afternoons.  And the flavors of Fall just can’t be beat – apples, pumpkins and lots of cinnamon! It’s so simple and makes a wonderful gift, too!

Apple Pie Spice is one of those things that is great to have on hand for seasoning all kinds of delicious goodies. I love baking with fresh apples and also applesauce, and this is the great addition for that tasty apple flavor.

While you can purchase pre-made mixes from your local grocery store, they’re really overpriced. You can buy good quality spices and make your own mixes in just a few minutes.

🧂 Ingredients

This is meant to be a brief overview of the recipe. For step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients, please scroll down to the teal box below.

These are the spices I use to make my own apple pie spice mix:

  • ground cinnamon
  • all spice
  • nutmeg (I prefer to purchase whole nutmegs and grate it myself but store-bought ground nutmeg is good also.)
  • ground ginger
  • cardamom

🔪Instructions

  1. Measure the spices into a small bowl.
  2. Combine the spices by very gently mixing them together with a fork or small whisk.
  3. Use a funnel to transfer the mixture into a small mason jar.
