This Mango Strawberry Banana Smoothie is one of my favorite ways to use up ripe bananas when I don’t want to bake (although this salted caramel banana bread recipe is super tasty!)

Full of great nutrition, fruit smoothies using fresh fruit or frozen fruit – or a combo – are easy to make and delicious. This mango banana strawberry smoothie has tons of potassium and vitamin A. Plus it’s also high in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber.

📖 Variations

The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the Strawberry Mango Banana Smoothie recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:

  • The banana helps to thicken and make a really creamy smoothie. If you don’t care for bananas, simply skip it or add extra yogurt. You can also replace it with avocado, applesauce, cottage cheese, or silken tofu. I really love strawberry bananas, which are smaller and sweeter and especially good in this recipe.
  • This is a pretty thick smoothie but you can make a thinner smoothie by adding a little bit of extra liquid.
  • You can use any milk or milk substitute you prefer including oat milk, cashew milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, coconut water, etc.
  • Substitute orange juice or pineapple juice in place of the milk.
  • If you taste your smoothie and it’s not sweet enough, there are a few natural sweeteners I prefer: agave nectar, honey, or maple syrup. Add a little bit and see what you think.
  • Any type of yogurt will work in this recipe, includeing vanilla yogurt, plain Greek yogurt, non-dairy yogurt, etc.
  • You can use fresh fruit and ice cubes or for a thicker smoothie, use frozen mango chunks, frozen banana, or frozen strawberries.
  • Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder or a tablespoon or two of chia seeds.

Serving Suggestions

People usually think of smoothies in the morning, but they’re a great way to give yourself a treat instead of dessert. I often make them for my kids after school, too.

You can also use this smoothie as the base for a Smoothie Bowl, similar to this banana smoothie bowl, or tropical smoothie bowl with strawberries.
