  • fine granulated sugar
  • fresh or frozen blueberries
  • fresh lemons
  • water

Blueberry lemonade drinks with lemon slices are the perfect way to use fresh blueberries during blueberry season.

Recipe Variations

  • Ginger is delicious with lemon and blueberries. Add 2-3 ounces of fresh sliced ginger with the blueberries when making the syrup.
  • Replace 1/2 cup of the blueberries with strawberries for a berry lemonade.
  • For an adult beverage, add a splash or two of vodka or gin over ice and pour the blueberry lemonade on top.
  • Use raspberries instead for a delicious Raspberry Lemonade, just make sure to strain the seeds.
  • For some bubbles, add a little bit of club soda, lemon-lime soda, or seltzer water to your lemonade mixture.

Ingredients

Blueberry Syrup

  • 1/2 cup fine granulated sugar
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup water

Blueberry Lemonade

  • 3/4 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 5 cups water

Instructions

Easy Blueberry Syrup

  • Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
    1/2 cup fine granulated sugar, 1 cup water
  • Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Mix in the blueberries and bring to a boil.
    1 cup blueberries
  • Reduce the heat and simmer until the blueberries start to break down – about 3 minutes.
  • Strain the blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth and let cool.

How to Make Blueberry Lemonade

  • Add the cooled, strained blueberry mixture to a large pitcher.
  • To the pitcher, add 5 cups of water and lemon juice. Refrigerate until chilled.
    5 cups water, 3/4 cups fresh lemon juice
  • Serve over ice with a lemon slice and blueberries if desired.
