Tips
Using the right ingredients is key when you're working on any diet. Here are a few tips for making low calorie smoothies:
- To help meet your weight loss goals, substitute whole milk or coconut milk for unsweetened almond milk, coconut water, rice milk, hemp milk, soy milk, or cashew milk. Almond milk is usually my go to because it's lower in calories than cow's milk and a good source of vitamin E.
- Avoid added sugar whenever possible, or use a healthier alternative like maple syrup or honey.
- Save calories but substituting low fat versions of your favorite Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt. Look for nonfat or low-fat yogurt at the grocery store.
