#ad – Thank you to Oakhurst Dairy for sponsoring today’s Back to School Lunchbox Notes + Sandwich Kabobs post.
Packing healthy lunches can sometimes be the most challenging part of my day. I loathe trying to find healthy options that I know the kids will eat. When I have the time in the morning – or sometimes the night before – I try to find cute ways to put together creative lunches because I know they are more likely to gobble it up, and that’s #SoWorthIt to me.
These ham and cheese kabobs include tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce, with pieces of pretzel bread. I use these stainless steel vegetable cutters to cut the ham and cheese into flower shapes. Because I didn’t want to send my young children to school with sharp sticks, I used 6-inch lollipop sticks instead. This makes a short kabob that fits well into a container or sandwich bag. You can make these kabobs with a variety of items to suit your child’s tastes.
One thing I always know will be a hit is Oakhurst Milk. It’s is a healthy addition to any lunchbox. The kids love the taste and it fills them up. I love knowing that I’m putting wholesome goodness into their lunchbox! Speaking of lunchboxes, Oakhurst has some cute back to school lunchbox notes you can download and print!

While Olivia is too young to read, these notes are a nice way to let my son know I’m thinking of him. Sometimes it’s a way to send a reminder about archery practice, or Cub Scouts. Other times, it’s just to say I love you, or send a word or two of encouragement.
My kids are big fans of Oakhurst Chocolate Milk, and since I’m making an effort to pack healthy foods, I don’t mind them having this little treat. It still packs great nutrition with loads of calcium, vitamins D and A, and more. In fact, this 16oz. bottle has 50% of the calcium recommended daily.
