The only thing I dread more than homework on school days, is packing lunches on school mornings. I always seem to start with good momentum and then I need some serious inspiration. My son is a creature of habit, but my daughter loves a variety of foods. She's big into fruits and veggies, but won't eat more than a few bites of a sandwich. Even at 4, she is not impressed by a boring lunch!
I'm loving bento style lunches for her especially. I can pack a nice variety of foods in the EZ-Freeze Expandable Bento Box and they all stay fresh and cool.
She likes the elements that would go into a sandwich, so I made her this deconstructed bento box with ham and cheese cut into flowers, and cucumbers, tomatoes and pieces of a pretzel roll. (I use these stainless steel vegetable cutters to cut the ham and cheese into flower shapes.)
These smaller boxes fit into a tray that you can freeze! It keeps food super chill. The boxes also have clear covers so the contents don't spill out.

Tips for Packed Lunch Ideas
- Keep cold food cold to keep it fresh.
- Pack a variety of items, including healthy choices and a treat.
- Have the kids help you pack snacks into the smaller containers ahead of time.
- Add a sweet note to make your kiddos smile! (Download free printable lunchbox notes here).

Packed Lunch Ideas
The bottom of the box can be expanded for sandwiches, fruits, veggies or even crackers or pretzels really well. I love this feature since it's so flexible!
Sandwich pinwheels like these (made with roast beef, lettuce, cheese and ranch dressing) are also a hit and fit well. As a mom, I love that all the pieces are dishwasher safe (top rack), and durable. We all know how hard our kids can be on their stuff!
