📖 Variations
The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:
- Substitute sour cream for mayo, or for a lighter version, use plain Greek yogurt.
- If you love hard-boiled eggs in your chicken salad, add 2-3 chopped eggs to the salad mixture.
- For a little bite, add ½ cup of finely diced red onion. Other items you can add for extra flavor include garlic powder, dijon mustard, fresh herbs, or finely diced red bell pepper.
- Sometimes I add chopped apples or halved grapes for a little sweetness.
- My husband loves his chicken salad sandwiches with sliced black olives.
