My family is over-the-moon crazy about meatballs. We most often have them with homemade tomato sauce and pasta, but we also love using them to make other meals. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite different ways to use meatballs to make delicious meals.

Favorite Homemade Meatball Recipes
While any of these recipes can be made with frozen meatballs, I love making my own homemade meatballs.
- Italian-style meatballs – these are the best meatballs and super versatile!

- Italian chicken meatballs – great alternative to ground beef.
- Korean meatballs – a little spicy, but also sweet.
- mini Italian meatballs – kids love these!
It’s simple to double these recipes so I can freeze them for another meal. Just flash-freeze your cooked meatballs on a baking sheet for 1 hour, then transfer them to a freezer bag. Don’t forget to label them.
Tips for Making Homemade Meatballs
- Don’t overmix the ground meat mixture or the meatballs will become tough.
- There’s a reason grandma’s meatballs always taste better – she used her hands! Skip the food processor and use an extra large bowl so you can gently mix without getting it all over the countertop!
- To keep the meatball mixture from sticking to your hands, start with a little bit of water on them.
Tips for Using Frozen Meatballs
Of course, we’ve got nothing against frozen meatballs, either. The trick with store-bought meatballs is to add flavorful and fresh ingredients to elevate them. Fresh herbs make a big difference!
