My ham and pasta salad combines ham and cheese and green onions (for crunch) with shells - just 5 ingredients and you have a delicious side dish or filling lunch for work.
Just like a ham and cheese sandwich is a classic lunch, this ham and cheese pasta salad will be a new favorite. Let me show you how to make it.

Instructions
Here's how to make Ham and Cheese Pasta Salad:
- Cook the shells, drain, and rinse with cold water until no longer hot.
- Stir together the ham, cheese, and green onions.
- Add half of the pasta and mayonnaise and stir.
- Stir in the remaining pasta and mayonnaise.
- Add salt and pepper and serve.

Should pasta be rinsed for pasta salad?
Yes! It's important to rinse your pasta with cold water immediately after cooking. This stops the cooking process and retains the al dente texture. It might be tempting to skip that step but you'll thank me if you do it anyway!

- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 bunch of green onions sliced thin w/ half of the greens
