Cherry fluff is one of those retro desserts that my Grammy used to make for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter. It’s a quick and easy no bake dessert that tastes great.

This recipe will serve 6-8 people and only takes about 10 minutes to make. However, for the best flavor, you should allow it to chill for about an hour before serving.

Ingredients

This is meant to be a brief overview of what’s needed to make this dessert salad recipe. Please scroll down to the teal box below for step-by-step instructions and a full printable recipe card with ingredients.

  • Cream Cheese: You can use regular or low-fat cream cheese in this recipe. It is easiest to use room temperature cream cheese.
  • Powdered Sugar: (Also known as confectioner’s sugar). I recommend sifting the powdered sugar to remove any lumps.
  • Cherry Pie Filling: Look for a 21-ounce can of filling at the grocery store.
  • Whipped Frozen Topping: Such as Cool Whip or similar. Allow the whipped topping to thaw on the countertop while you assemble all the ingredients.
  • Mini Marshmallows: Such as Jet-Puffed or similar; note that you can use the dehydrated marshmallow bits instead but it changes the texture of the dessert.
  • Garnish: Maraschino cherries for color.
  • Optional: Nuts, crushed pineapple, and/or shredded coconut all add additional flavors and textures to the recipe that you may enjoy.

Ang’s Recipe Tips

  • Fold the whipped cream topping into the cherry filling carefully so that you don’t over-mix it.

Storage

To Store: Leftover cherry fluff will last in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. (These are my favorite airtight containers.)

Make Ahead

This dessert can be made one day ahead of time which is part of what makes it great for potlucks and parties. Be sure to cover and store in the fridge.
