You can buy granola at the store, or you can make it at home using my Homemade Granola Cereal recipe.  This heart-healthy granola is packed with tons of tasty ingredients that are good for you, too.  It adds just the right amount of crunch to the Easy Green Smoothie Bowl with Spinach & Strawberries.  I like to make a big batch of this granola for the week. It’s delicious on it’s own as cereal, too.

Adding the granola to your smoothie bowl makes it more filling.  Plus, oats have been known to help lower levels of bad cholesterol. The flax seeds are optional, but I urge you to add them. Flaxseeds are a rich source of omega-3, dietary fiber, and, vitamin B1. You can swap out the walnuts for almonds or pecans if you prefer.
