Your little one will just love this sweet Oatmeal Box Doll Cradle – and it’s easier to make than you think!  Kids will love creating this doll bed that even rocks! Plus you can personalize it with your child’s favorite colors.

I am just THRILLED to share with you this darling craft for kids!  Time to make an Oatmeal Box Doll Cradle.  My girls have both loved these little baby cradles made out of your empty oatmeal box.  They love how they rock back and forth and hold their little dolls so snug.  This doll bed craft is so easy.  Your kids can decorate it and personalize it how they want.  Very fun.

Materials needed:

1 empty cardboard cylinder (oatmeal box works best!)

scissors or retractable utility knife

Mod Podge or any craft glue

2 pieces of scrapbook paper (12 x 12 size) You can also decorate with stickers, markers, fabric, etc.

Ribbon, tape, extra embellishments optional

Step One

Trim the scrapbook paper to the correct size to fit your box.  Cover the oatmeal box with glue using a sponge brush.  Stick the paper on carefully.  It takes more than one sheet to cover the whole box.  Let the glue dry thoroughly.

Step Two

Using a pencil, sketch out a rectangle shape for the opening.  Leave 1-2 inches on each end. Using scissors or an X-acto knife, cut out the rectangle.  This part should be done by an adult.  I ended up using scissors because my retractable knife was dull.

Step Three

If you want, add embellishments.  You can paint the inside with regular acrylic paint.  You can cover the edges of the opening with tape (I used electrical tape).  You can add ribbons.   Let your child personalize it!

Now put that cute dolly in and let it rock!

Love this! My three year old would absolutely enjoy this toy. She’s only got 2 dolls and they might be a little too big to fit inside, but it would work great for a tiny teddy that someone just gave her. Pinning.

Oh yes, she will. And the best part is when she’s tired of it, or no longer uses the baby bed, you can toss it!
