What is it about the grandparent / grandchild relationship that makes it so innately special? Growing up, I was incredibly close to my mother’s parents.
My grandmother especially… she was like a second mother to me in so many ways. Now that I have children of my own, I have seen this magical relationship unfold between my parents and my children. It’s truly something special.
Did you know that this Sunday, September 10, 2023 is Grandparents Day? Now I know that there are ‘holidays’ for just about everything now, but this is one that I’ve been celebrating for 15 years or more. I used to send cards to my grandparents, and later when Mr. Juggling Act and I were dating, I sent cards to his grandparents, too.
Now sadly, all my grandparents have passed (though Mr. Juggling Act luckily still has 3 of his!). I have passed on the tradition of making cards to my children, and they’ll be putting together something special.
But I also am going to print and frame this for Grandparents Day. The sentiments ring so true in our sphere, and I think it will make some very special grandparents in our family happy.
I hope you will download this and give it on Grandparents Day, too. I suggest having the file printed at Staples or Kinko’s to avoid using up all your black ink. You can pick up a pretty frame at any craft store.
