At Christmas time, I bought my sisters and mom each an adult coloring book. We spent an entire afternoon together at the kitchen table coloring, an entire afternoon together at the kitchen table coloring, laughing, and talking.

It was reminiscent of my childhood Christmas vacation when we would spend hours and hours together around the table playing cards, board games, and coloring. This adult coloring book craze is one I can really get behind. But borrowing my daughter’s well-loved markers and colored pencils could sometimes be quite frustrating.
