1cupdiced applecut into 1-inch pieces - I like to use Fiji or Pink Lady apples
2cupsfresh baby spinachor your favorite dairy-free option
½ cupnonfat plain Greek yogurtor your favorite non-dairy option
1cupmilkalmond, soy, cow (or orange juice)
1teaspoonsweetener such as sugar, honey or agaveoptional
Instructions
Add the milk or juice to the blender with the ice, frozen fruit and any sweetener you may be using.
1 cup ice cubes, 2 cups frozen pineapple, ½ cup frozen banana slices, ½ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon sweetener such as sugar, honey or agave, 1 cup milk
Secure the cover and pulse a couple of times.
Add in the apple and spinach.
1 cup diced apple, 2 cups fresh baby spinach
Secure the cover again and blend until smooth. You may need to pulse again to get it going.
Serve immediately.
Notes
Quick Tip: for a creamy smoothie I suggest using regular milk (or a milk substitute) versus juice.Can I use frozen spinach?You can use frozen spinach, however since it has been blanched before it is frozen, it may not have the same fresh taste. For best results, I recommend fresh baby spinach. If you do use frozen spinach, keep in mind that it is more compact, so you'll only need about ⅓ of a cup.
