⭐ Tips
The following may contain affiliate links. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
✔️ Double check your pantry, fridge, and freezer after you've made your grocery list to be sure you have everything you need - and nothing extra you don't really need.
✔️If you're doing online grocery order, check to see if your retailer has any special coupons. I saved almost $10 one time just by checking off a box to save 10% on my order over $90.
✔️ Clean your produce when you get home from the store. Prep ingredients like diced celery and rinse and chop salad greens ahead of time so you just need to grab a container when it's time to cook - it's like having a sous chef!
✔️ Keep your prepped foods fresh by using quality airtight containers - these are my favorite. Plus these are great for leftovers, too.

September 9 - Italian Meatballs
One of my favorite meals is pasta with homemade Italian meatballs and tomato sauce. My husband makes the best meatballs ever and this is his family's recipe.
If you prefer, you can make homemade Italian chicken meatballs.
I like to make garlic bread or breadsticks to go with this meal.
Don't be afraid to make a big batch because these freeze wonderfully. Not only are you going to use them tomorrow to make calzones, but they make great meatball sliders and meatball cupcakes!
September 10 - Meatball Calzones
Make some yummy meatball calzones using leftover meatballs.
These calzones are great for game day and parties, too. Sometimes I serve these antipasto kabobs along with it for company.
You can add any other pizza toppings to the filling. My husband loves adding peppers and onions.
Serve with a green salad for an easy dinner.
September 11 - Turkey Sheet Pan Dinner
If the Fall weather has you craving Thanksgiving, give this turkey sheet pan dinner a try.
You can use a whole small turkey, or turkey breast cutlets and all your favorite veggies.
Either way, we'll use the leftover turkey tomorrow so make sure you have enough for two meals.

September 12 - Leftover Turkey Chili
Our turkey chili recipe calls for beans, but if you prefer just leave them out.
You could also make this using ground turkey or ground chicken.
Serve with cheesy cornbread or cheddar bacon muffins.
You can make chili cornbread cups or chili potato skins with the leftovers - both make great game day snacks!
September 13 - Roasted Sweet Potatoes
These crispy roasted sweet potatoes might be my new favorite side dish!
If you're not a fan of rosemary, swap it out with thyme or cilantro.
For our protein, we're making this amazing skillet 40 clove garlic chicken that is so incredibly flavorful and delicious.
The chicken will take the longer than the sweet potatoes, so get that started first.
More Side Dish Recipes
If you're not a fan of sweet potatoes, try our crispy smashed potatoes, Italian green bean salad, cinnamon butternut squash, or beet salad.
September 14 - Chicken Tortilla Soup
It only takes about 30 minutes to make chicken tortilla soup!
It's such a homey and comforting meal especially when the weather is chilly.
You can either use leftover 40 clove garlic chicken or rotisserie chicken for this recipe that's so easy that my daughter can now make it (almost) by herself!
Serve with extra tortilla chips for dipping, or make these copycat rolls.

September 15 - Italian Roast Beef
Whenever a good cut for pot roast is on sale I grab it and put it in the freezer for later. It's an awesome meal and leftovers are super tasty, too.
Most often I make Italian pot roast with potatoes and carrots but you could also add sweet potatoes, parsnips, or other root veggies.
While the roast simmers in the crockpot, put together these easy shortcut dinner rolls to serve with garlic chive butter.
Now take note, make more than what you need so you can save some of the leftovers to make beef pot pie on Sunday. More on that in next week's meal plan.
Breakfast - Apple Danish
You're going to love this easy apple danish recipe.
After all, despite all the hype about pumpkin spice, it's still apple season!
With a sweet apple and cream cheese filling, these little pastries are as tasty for breakfast and brunch as they are for dessert!
Snacks - Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Dip
This peanut butter and caramel apple dip is always a big hit with my kids and it makes for a great game day snack, too.
If the weather is cooling down and you feel like baking instead, try our apple streusel bread. It's great for breakfast and I love having it as an after-dinner snack when I'm feeling munchie.

Dessert - Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
My grandmother used to make these chocolate chip cookie bars when I was a kid, and my mom still makes them.
They're a great bake sale treat, afternoon snack, and, of course, dessert. (Try them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!)
These shortbread magic bars are always a huge hit, too.
Game Day Grub
There are tons of NFL games this week but I'll probably be watching the Patriots vs Dolphins and maybe checking the score for the Buccaneers and Cowboys.
I'm a New England girl, but I went to college in Florida back in the days when Tony Dungee was coaching the Bucs and now that Gronk is there, I love keeping tabs on them again.
All that said, you probably know by now that I do not know the difference between a touchback and a flea flicker. (Who comes up with these names anyhow?!?) But I love making a couple of tasty snacks and spending a few hours chilling out with my family.
Here are a few of our favorite snacks to make on game day:
- Corn Muffin Chili Cups
- Steak and Cheese Bomb Rolls
- Meatball Cupcakes
- Chili Potato Skins
- Oatmeal Fig Bars
