I am excited to share with you my pick to Stop the Summer Slide with Amazon Underground Best Apps For Kids. Educational based apps can help stop the summer slide - that time when kids lose momentum with their math and reading levels due to summer vacation.

We use screen time strategically in our house. The kids know that they need to spend time each day helping out around the house to earn their screen time. In addition, they know that screen time must be educational.
There are tons of fun educational games available on Amazon Underground. As a parent, I don't want to have to worry about in-app purchases. Amazon Underground offers 100% free apps and games so I don't have to worry, and the kids are not frustrated.
Stop the Summer Slide with Amazon Underground Best Apps For Kids
Here are my favorite Amazon Underground apps to stop the summer slide:

Preschool Basic Skills: Space All in One Learning Adventure A to Z includes a variety of skills building games for Toddler Boys and Girls at the Preschool and Kindergarten level. With 6 educational, space-themed interactive mini-games, and 12 categories, this app is perfect for children preparing to start school. My favorite aspect is the step-by-step instructions on how to write each letters, numbers 1-100 and shapes. Amazon Customers agree that this is a fantastic app for little ones, giving it 4.5 stars.

Spell Bot earns 5 stars on Amazon and is perfect for any kid that loves robots. Kids restore an old robot, giving it new life by completing levels in the game. My favorite feature about this game is that you can input a list of words you want your child to focus on. It's great for practicing site words, high-frequency words, or preparing for spelling tests during the school year. Kids can choose from a wide array of categories: animals, numbers, colors, and shapes...and upload them into Spell Bot’s memory banks. Because you can customize this app, it's great for kids of a variety of ages.

Math Run is a fantastic app for elementary school age kids. Children can choose from 5 cute animal characters, each with their own math specialty. This game is a fantastic way for kids to practice their math facts, and grow their skills. The timed levels include addition subtraction, multiplication and division. Kids will love pushing themselves to get to then ext level, so it's really great for building math skills. This game gets 4.5 stars on Amazon.

GeoFlight USA is a fun geography quiz game to learn states, cities and capitals of the United States. While a lot of other apps focus on reading or math skills, this is a fantastic app to hone your child's geography skills. Kids (and even adults!) can choose from three game modes: Timerace and Multiple Choice Questions. Players will learn about 150 cities, plus the 50 capitals in all 50 states. This app is best suited for elementary age children and older. GeoFlight USA gets 4.5 stars on Amazon.

Musical Clock for Kids is an educational game to help children learn to tell time. Digital buttons show the time numerically to help build that correlation and recognition. The animated sun and moon travel across the sky, according to the time on the clock. The landscape gets lighter or darker based on the time! This app allows kids to literally play with time, while learning. This game is unrated on Amazon, but I love it!

Amazon Underground is available to customers in the United States, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
The Amazon Underground app is compatible with all Android phones that run Android version 4.0 or greater, but it only supported on 5th Generation (2012 – newer) and newer Fire tablets, and Android phones.

Solid list with good options for educational gaming, but you might want to mention the Yup app for those looking for tutoring. While some homework apps just give answers to students, others (like Yup) provide live 1-on-1 tutoring for math/chemistry/physics in a text-based interface. The tutors help the students reach a conceptual understanding instead of a quick way out.
