I like using baby spinach in smoothies because it has a milder flavor than kale or arugula. While this spinach smoothie is usually my go-to for green smoothies, I like this Green Protein Smoothie recipe when I want a protein-packed smoothie.

📖 Variations
The first time you try any new recipe we recommend that you make it just as it is written on the recipe card since that is how the green protein smoothie recipe has been tested. However, the next time you make our recipe, you might want to try one of these ideas:
- You can substitute orange juice or apple juice in place of the milk.
- If you like your smoothies a little bit sweeter, try adding a little bit of agave nectar, honey, or maple syrup.
- For a frozen smoothie, use a cup or two of ice cubes, or use frozen banana slices.
- If you don't care for banana, you can thicken your smoothie using yogurt. You can also replace it with avocado, applesauce, cottage cheese, silken tofu, or cauliflower (yes really!)
- You can use any milk or milk substitute you prefer including oat milk, cashew milk, cow's milk, soy milk, coconut milk, coconut water, etc.
