I've seen this on Pinterest quite a bit lately, and thought maybe it would be a cool craft to do with Ethan during one of Liv's naps. It turns out making a glitter jug was almost as fun as playing with it! Ethan loved watching what happened to the 'ingredients' as he dropped them into the bottle, especially the glitter glue, which he said looked like worm!
Materials:
Plastic bottle
Goo Be Gone
Glitter Glue
Iridescent Glitter
Corn Syrup
Hot Water
Food Coloring
E6000 glue, or similar
Instructions:
Clean and remove the label from a plastic bottle - we used an empty Pedalyte bottle. The label came off easily, but if yours is difficult to remove, try some Goo Be Gone.
Fill the bottle two-thirds of the way full of HOT water. Add about 2 Tbls of glitter glue (we used green) and 2 Tbls of corn syrup (it doesn't have to be exact, you just want enough so that the glitter doesn't immediately settle to the bottom of the bottle). Dump in the glitter and add food coloring. (We used about 8 drops of green and 4 drops of yellow.) Put the cap on tightly and shake to mix everything up. You can tweak the coloring and consistency by adding more food coloring and corn syrup. Once you're happy with the way it looks, add some glue to the inside of the cap, then screw on tightly.
Let the bottle rest for 2 hours while the glue dries, then have fun shaking it up and watching it all settle back down again!
