Over the last two years, Ethan’s Cub Scout pack has started to become like family to us. There are so many amazing people devoting time and energy to our boys. It’s really an amazing thing to be a part of! To celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, there is an annual “Thanksmas” celebration. All the families contribute to the meal, Santa comes, and it’s a really fun afternoon. This year, our family cooked one of the turkeys and made a salad, so I wanted a dessert that was quick and easy that the kids could help me make.
I picked up Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ products at my local Stop & Shop and the kids and I got down to business. These brownies so, so good. In fact, they were one of the first desserts that disappeared from the dessert table! I like using the Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ products because they contain no colors, preservatives or artificial flavor. It’s more like homemade. But let’s face it, around the holidays we all sometimes need a shortcut! No one needs to know you started with a mix, it will be our little secret!

The kids helped me to frost and decorate the brownies. I love having the kids help in the kitchen for a variety of reasons. Spending time together is wonderful, but you can also teach simple math and science principals along the way. The kids had such a great sense of accomplishment when we were done, too. Trust me, these Frosted Holiday Brownies with Pillsbury™ Purely Simple™ will be a big hit at your holiday gatherings, too!
