Last week, Mr. Juggling Act took two days off ‘just because.’ Since we’ve done lots of boating this summer, but had no beach time yet, we grabbed some friends and headed off to Odiorne Point State Park and Wallis Sands State Beach with friends. We had so much fun at the beach, that it inspired this Beach Subway Art Printable – you can download it for free here!

The kids had a blast checking out the touch tank and other exhibits. By far, the fishing was the hands-down favorite!
The fishing poles had a magnetic ball attached to the ends, and the fish all had magnets near the mouths. A poster nearby helped the kids identify what kind of fish they’d caught. Then the kids, or in this case, Mr. Juggling Act, measured the fish to see if they were long enough to ‘keep’ or if they had to be ‘thrown back.’
Next up, we headed down to Odiorne Point to climb over the rocks, check out the tide pools, and collect a few treasures.
Olivia found the most shells and had so much fun sorting them by type, size and color.
She also enlisted Daddy’s help for her collecting!
Ethan was scampering over the rocks with his friend and checking out the tide pools. I managed to grab and snap this pic of us though!
Next it was off to Wallis Sands. I didn’t take nearly as many photos, mostly because I was having so much fun playing with the kids. At 59-degrees, the ocean was freezing. Literally, you were numb from it! It didn’t stop the kids from rushing in and out of the waves. I love this moment of pure joy on Olivia’s face.
So tell me, have you been to the beach this summer?
