I don't believe in crazy ingredients that you've never heard of .... or things you have to find in some specialty store. As a mom with five kiddos, my life is hectic. I like to call it organized chaos. Most of the time. Hehe! Sometimes, it's definitely not organized - you can relate, right?
I hate to admit that it happens too often that I forget to pick up bread at the store or make any earlier in
I could just skip it but thankfully, these Cheese Bombs are quick, easy and delicious! Sometimes, my kiddos hope I forgot the bread just so they can have these yummy little balls of cheesy goodness! 😉 I'm onto them though!

💭 Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some questions (and answers!) readers often ask about this cheesy garlic bread bombs recipe.
You can make your own biscuit dough (recipe here) or use any fresh or frozen bread dough from the grocery store. Store-bought pizza dough works really well for this recipe also.
Yes, if you're using frozen dough, they will need to be thawed prior to stuffing and baking.
I always keep a roll of refrigerator biscuits on hand because they last for several weeks in the refrigerator.
No, I don't recommend it. These rolls are best if they are cooked right away. The dough begins to deteriorate after opening. They won't taste any different, but they won't rise as well and they will be heavy.
If you're worried about whether or not they will all be eaten, go ahead and cook them first and freeze them. They will freeze well.
When you're ready to reheat them, thaw in the refrigerator then gently reheat on a baking sheet at 350 degrees, uncovered for 6 to 8 minutes.

⭐ Tips
- You can make your own Homemade Italian Seasoning, which personally I love, or use a mix from the store.
- Using cubed cheese makes like really easy and saves on a lot of messy clean up, however, shredded cheeses will work just fine also.
- Pinch the rolls shut tightly or the cheese will ooze out and make a mess! Be sure to place them SEAM side down in/on your pan.
- These are best served warm right out of the oven for the perfect cheesy stretch! You can even add a little extra sprinkle of grated Parmesan to the top if you like.
📖 Variations
I love the combination of gooey, stringy mozzarella cheese with the sharp bite from Parmesan. However, you can play with the cheeses to suit your tastes.
Try gouda and brie for a fancy version perfect for girl's night. Add a pinch of red pepper flake to the buttery glaze for a spicy kick.
Try using one of our homemade compound butter recipes like copycat Benihana Butter, cowboy butter, or garlic basil butter.
You can also change up the seasoning, too. Try our lemon pepper, Mediterranean seasoning, or Ranch seasoning mix.
Here are some other ideas:
- Stuffed Pizza Rolls - use pepperoni along with cheese in your garlic bombs.
- Steak and Cheese Bomb Rolls - switch it up Philly style with these cheesy shaved beef rolls.

While these are flavorful already, you could also serve them with a quick dipping oil. Just add 3 tablespoons of olive oil to a shallow bowl and sprinkle in a teaspoon of Spaghetti seasoning or Italian seasoning and a pinch of flaked sea salt. Our cowboy butter dipping sauce would also be delicious with these cheesy bites.
As a side dish, these little babies are awesome with Chicken Cobb Salad or Buffalo Chicken Salad. Think about adding them as a side dish to go with Easy Lasagna Soup, Tomato Soup, or Slow Cooker Potato Soup.

Jamie, found your site last night & I'm enjoying browsing. :). I have a question about these rolls. Would you mind posting what type of biscuits you use--flaky, buttermilk, Southern style, etc? They look like real rolls in your pics instead of having a biscuit look & texture. Can't wait to try them. Bread & cheese--YUM!

Can't wait it try this recipe, but here in uk I haven't seen anything like the chilled biscuits. Our biscuits are sweet and not from a bread dough. Do you know what the equivalent would be here?
Thanks
Ang Paris says
I'm not sure what the equivalent would but you can use Jamie's biscuit recipe to make the dough from scratch. Good luck!
