SnapShots: Dinner Plate Dahlia

I snapped this photo last weekend at my parent's in Maine after a rain shower.  There are so many things I love about this image...

I love the hydrangeas in full bloom but out of focus in the background
I love the shades of pink ranging from delicate to rich, and the hints of yellow
I love the water droplets on the outer petals

I love that my mom has the time to cultivate such beauty in and around her home.
I also love that I had five whole minutes to myself to take this photo!

I hope you find five minutes for yourself to enjoy the beautiful things around you.

  1. That is a huge flower! Dahlia's are one of my favorite flowers and I love the pink. I'd like to have a garden someday but my kiddos like to pick all my flowers and bring them to me. It's really sweet but it makes for a bare garden :)
